Columbus Day Pre-Season Clinic

GET Ready For Youth Basketball Tryouts and Evaluations

Is Your Player Ready for this season?

After a long summer, players are now full force in school and may be involved in spring sports.  Winter approaches and it’s time to get ready for basketball season.

How much practicing have they done before the tryouts?

What new skills have they learned during off-season?

Has your child improved since last year?

Skill Development Makes a Difference

What’s the difference between one player and another.  One player has spent time developing his skill set.  The other hopes to get better during the season.  Which player will become the better player?  These are the skills players need to

    •  Dribbling… The most important offensive skill you can have
    •  Passing… Good passing leads to easier scores for your teammates
    • Shooting…The most exciting party of youth basketball. All players want to score.  This is an excellent confidence  booster
    • Footwork.  The foundation of youth basketball.  Being able to move faster and quicker makes enhances the above skills.  A player who develops his footwork becomes a better all-around player.
  • Defending.  Work on this and the coaches will find a spot for you on the team.  Great defenders have great attitudes.
Abby really enjoyed camp on Monday and Tuesday.  She has already requested to attend the MLK day camp.
I wanted you to know that you have had a big impact on my daughter’s development.  Not only do her skills continue to improve, but her confidence on the court is very high.  I know she looks forward to working with you in the future.”- Tony C.

A New Player Emerges

At the Columbus Day Clinic, players will work on all the skills above.  The old player enters, and a brand new player emerges. With these greater skills, players will have….

    • Greater confidence
    • Learn how to scoring more points
    • Better control of the basketball
    • Improve understanding of teamwork
    • Become more aggressive
    • Increased Focus
  • More fun

“Just wanted to say that my girls are in Coach Keith’s basketball class in Fairfax and we love it!  He focuses on foundational skills that will help any player.  My girls have both improved their layups from going to his class.  He’s great with all age groups, consistent, and positive”– Akemi O.
